PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate chamfering work for the chamfering part of an optical element even in the optical element with a throwaway auxiliary appliance. SOLUTION: In this device, a throwaway auxiliary appliance 3 is fixed to the end part outer peripheral side of a lens holder 1, to perform chamfering work for the chamfering part of a lens 2 fixed to the inner side of the appliance 3 and machined single or double sides together with the appliance 3. In this case, a chuck 4 is provided which is detachably holding and rotating the holder 1 fixed by the appliance 3 to the end part outer peripheral side, also the lens 2 so as to position its end surface on the inner side of the appliance 3. Also the following are provided such that a CG wheel 10 for removing at least a part of the appliance 3 so as to expose a chamfering part to be chamfered of the lens 2 fixed to the holder 1 held by the chuck 4, and a chamfering wheel 11 for chamfering the chamfering part for chamfering the exposed lens 2.
