PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorizing method and a deodorizing apparatus capable of easily collecting material in which microorganisms live, suppressing the maintenance of the material to a low cost and positively exhibiting a deodorizing function. SOLUTION: Malodorous air caused by volatilization of malodorous components is brought into contact with an adsorptive material S composed of grass, to collect the malodorous components of the malodorous air by the adsorptive material S. The malodorous components are decomposed by the microorganisms living in the adsorptive material S.
