Method and Access Node thereof for providing an identity of a user equipment in a radio communications system comprising the steps of: - receiving by an access node of a first message from at least one user equipment of a plurality of user equipments, said first message comprising of information relating to said at least one user equipment; - generating an identity for said at least one user equipment by said access node based upon said received information, and - transmitting a second message comprising said identity by said access node to said at least one user equipment, wherein a payload size for said identity is constant.
