<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-board image display device capable of intuitively recognizing a positional relation with an obstacle or the like behind a vehicle, and instantaneously recognizing character information, at the same time. <P>SOLUTION: The on-board image display device comprises: a character extracting section which detects a character included in an image behind the vehicle, and which extracts a range surrounding the detected character as a character area; and a character inversion image-generating section which cuts the character area from the image behind the vehicle, and generates a mirror-reversed character image by fitting it into the original image behind the vehicle, after the cut character area is mirror-reversed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
