PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pump system of an inexpensive and simple constitution, capable of simplifying its maintenance, and preventing the lowering of concentration of brine. SOLUTION: This heat pump system comprises a reverse cycle type heat pump 2, a closed heating tower 1 and a brine pipe 3 for circulating the brine between the heat pump 2 and the heating tower 1. The heat pump 2 comprises a compressor 21 for compressing a refrigerant, a heat source-side heat exchanger 22 exchanging the heat between the brine in the brine pipe 3 and the refrigerant, a load-side heat exchanger 23 performing the heat exchange between a load-side and the refrigerant, and a four-way valve 24 for switching a refrigerant flow channel.
