PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film for transfer foil which is excellent in glossiness of a molding surface after transfer and suitable for applications including in-mold molding. SOLUTION: As regards the polyester film for the transfer foil, in the surface at least on the transfer surface side, the value of average central surface roughness SRa is 15 nm or below, and the number of projections of at least 200 nm is 1% or above of the total number of projections.
