<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-use portable terminal exchange system while suppressing costs for a cellular phone. <P>SOLUTION: A portable terminal exchange system 1 is constituted by connecting a radio portable terminal 2 and a private branch exchange 4 through a private branch radio network 5, and also by connecting a cellular phone communication card 3 and the private branch exchange 4 through a public telephone network 6 and a cellular phone network 7. The radio portable terminal 2 is a portable terminal basically used in a private branch, and communicates with the private branch exchange 4 by the private branch radio communication. The cellular phone communication card 3 communicates with the private branch exchange 4 by the cellular phone communication by being shared in the department or between the persons in charge and by being connecting to a slot of the radio portable terminal 2. The private branch exchange 4 memorizes an extension number or a cellular phone number for every portable terminal, registers or erases the cellular phone number in accordance with attachment and detachment of the cellular phone communication card 3 to the radio portable terminal 2.
