PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an objective and quantitative continuous casting method capable of casting a slab extremely less in internal cracks. SOLUTION: This continuous casting method satisfies the condition of formula (2) in a strain accumurated distance Lst [m] obtained with formula (1), Lst=2.1×(casting velocity Vc) within the section where a meniscus distance is 5 to 20 m. In the formula (2), G<SB>i</SB>[mm] is a roll gap (G) at i-th order from a mold among n-pairs of roll pair 3a, 3b existing in Lst; f(x)=x in the range of x>0, and f(x)=0 in the case of x≤0, and the right side A in the formula (2) is individually defined in the range of 1.0 to 2.0 [mm] based on the carbon content in the slab.
