<p>Materials contaminated by cyanogen and/or by cyanogen containing compounds are moistened until the correct pH is set and necessary decontamination compounds are prepared. The contaminated material is layered into stacks for composting. Stacks are homogenized after 4-5 days and covered by black foil. Temperatures and moisture are checked continuously while fermentation takes place. Conditions are adjusted, when needed. A caramellization process follows and its parameters are monitored and optionally adjusted. Finally decontaminated materials are sited.</p> |
