A security system for an elevator is provided to reduce communication load by not communicating with a management server connected to a controller. A security system for an elevator includes a plurality of floor buttons(1), a communication device(4) in a household, monitoring communication devices(2,7), and a controller(3). The floor buttons are formed by households and separately operated by each of the household to allow a visitor to select a specific household. The communication device in the household is installed inside each of the households. The monitoring communication devices monitor the visitor. The controller controls the elevator and displays images photographed by cameras of the monitoring communication devices on a monitor of the communication device in the household corresponding to the operated floor button when any one of the floor buttons is operated.
