<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminating device preventing degradation of illumination uniformity caused by speckles by down-sizing a coupling portion of an optical fiber and a light guide in the illuminating device using laser light. <P>SOLUTION: The illuminating device is provided with a light source (1) to generate laser light, an optical fiber (2) to transmit the laser light, a light guide (4) to planarily propagate light, and a phase modulation means (6) to temporally vary the laser light phase. One end of the optical fiber (2) constitutes a light extraction portion (7) to extract laser light from the side of the optical fiber (2) to the outside thereof, and the light extraction portion (7) is arranged such that the longitudinal direction is along an input section of the light guide (4). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
