Illumination for a sewing machine is provided by a number of light diodes (28, 30, 37) supported in a holder and arranged round the needle bar and needle (6). They are grouped on a conductor plate and held in a housing attached to the underside (21) of the machine arm (1). They emit light in a specified cone angle, e.g. 20 degrees. The housing has an opening to allow the needle bar and button hole cutter to pass through. The button hole cutter has its own group of diodes (30). |
