<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that in a printing system for printing by synchronizing a plurality of independent printing mechanisms, since the length of a sheet route is changed according to an installing position of an apparatus and a way of charging the sheet, error recovery printing in response to an amount of variations must be performed. <P>SOLUTION: The printing system prepares a memory buffer of a ring structure which can store page image data of the maximum length part to be anticipated. Further, a means for measuring a distance between the printing mechanisms and capable of inputting the distance is provided. A printer controller stores the page image data used for printing in the memory buffer, manages the memory buffer while printing, decides a range of performing the error recovery based on the sheet route length established by a sheet recharging work after the error recovery when an error occurs, and automatically performs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
