PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane filtration apparatus which can prevent scales generated in alkali solution injection piping of the membrane filtration apparatus, and can be stably operated. SOLUTION: The membrane filtration apparatus comprises a membrane module for filtering seawater or brackish water, a filtrate storage tank for storing filtrate obtained by membrane filtration in the membrane module, liquid supply piping for connecting the filtrate storage tank with the permeate side of the membrane module, a liquid supply means for supplying the filtrate from the filtrate storage tank to the permeate side of the membrane module through the liquid supply piping, and an alkali solution injection means for injecting an alkaline solution into the liquid supply piping. An acid solution injection means for injecting an acid solution into the liquid supply piping is connected with the liquid supply piping at a position between the filtrate storage tank and a point where the liquid supply piping is connected with the alkali solution injection means.
