MANUFACTURE OF CUSHIONING PAPER TUBE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a cushioning paper tube of high roundness and high quality by spirally winding a paper tape around a fixed mandrel, by continuously feeding it to the tip of the mandrel to form a spiral paper tube, and by winding around a low-density paper around the spiral paper tube surface. SOLUTION: When a cushioning paper tube is manufactured by winding surface paper 25 having a cushioning performance while a paper tube is formed by spirally winding a paper tape around a mandrel 12 and continuously feeding the paper tape to the tip side of the mandrel, a material cutting a low density paper foam into a ribbon shape is used as the surface paper 25. When winding the surface paper 25 around the paper tube surface, a weight 0.5-1 kgw is applied to the surface paper 25 by a tensioning device 40 so as to apply a tensile force to the surface paper 25. Water soluble adhesive of application quantity 50-55 g/m2 is applied on the rear face of the surface paper via a transcription roll and the surface paper 25 is wound around the surface layer of the paper tube from its top at an oblique angle.
