A method for controlling a washing water is provided to resolve the problem of water shortage by improving the machine function. A method for controlling a washing machine comprises: a step of providing washing water in a washing tub and performing washing rightly and inversely; a step of comparing operating water level with set standard water level; a step of judging whether the operation water level reaches to the standard water level; and a step of changing rotation cycle or rotation rate of driving motor if the operation water level does not reach to the standard water level.
