PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a nonaqueous electrolyte in which a specific fluorine-containing metal compound exhibits sufficient solubility into an electrolyte and with which an increase in resistance is suppressed and preservation properties are improved, in batteries that are driven at high potentials; and a nonaqueous secondary battery.SOLUTION: There are provided: a nonaqueous electrolyte containing a fluorine-containing metal compound represented by the following formula (I) and a nonaqueous solvent; and a nonaqueous secondary battery.
