An apparatus (10, 10', 10'', 10''', 10'''') for rapidly screening for brain disease, providing for cranial nerve disease diagnosis by means of the state of the eyes (2') of a patient (2), said apparatus (10, 10', 10'', 10''', 10'''') containing a sensing unit (12), a processing unit (12), and a carrier (16). The sensing unit (12) captures images (IMG) of the eyes (2') of the patient (2). The sensing unit (12) outputs eye image signals (EIS) from which at least one eyeball (2') image maybe obtained. The processing unit (14) is connected to the sensing unit (12). Within a predetermined period of time, the processing unit (14) collects from the sensing unit (12) a plurality of images (IMG), and the processing unit (14) runs an algorithm to generate calculation results (CR) on the basis of the images (IMG) from the eye image signals (EIS). The sensing unit (12) and the processing unit (14) are provided on the carrier (16). On the basis of the calculation results (CR), a judgment or prognosis is made regarding the patient's disease. |
