摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a visible print defect by positioning deviation of a medium by driving an encoder roller by only driving force generated by a sheet medium, and comparing output from the encoder roller with an expected advance quantity. SOLUTION: When driving an encoder roller 210 by an advancing sheet medium P, an actual position of the advancing sheet medium P is specified regardless of whether or not a slip is caused in the sheet medium P to an advance of upstream or downstream driving nips 120, 130 at advancing time. That is, information from the encoder roller 210 is used as feedback to control an image by an adjusting mechanism 270, and the adjusting mechanism 270 corrects positioning deviation detected by controlling a large number of optional constitutive elements or parameters. The adjusting mechanism 270 sends out correction data to a motor 180 to position the sheet medium P again by advancing/retreating the motor 180 further.
