The overflow valve (1) has a housing in which a spring-loaded movable wall is fitted. The overflow valve has a blocking position and a through flow position. There is a switching valve (2) in a line (4) bridging the moving wall, and which has a blocking position (37) and a through flow position (36). The switching valve can be switched to through flow position only when the vehicle is at rest and the ignition is switched off.
