<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system capable of suppressing the occurrence of unnecessary paper. <P>SOLUTION: When a control unit receives a printing instruction, the carrying of a continuous paper and printing operation start (S102), and when the printing operation by the printing instruction is completed (S103), the control unit judges whether the carrying of the continuous paper is completed or not (S104). When the control unit judges that the carrying of the continuous paper is completed, the unit stops the carrying of the continuous paper (S106). When the control unit judges that the carrying of the continuous paper is not completed, the unit judges whether the following printing instruction is received or not (S107). When the following printing instruction is received, the unit restarts the printing operation without stopping the carrying of the paper (S108).
