Suggested are an apparatus and a method for supporting a high-speed search function of an audio video navigation (AVN) system for a vehicle, which control the songs in the AVN system to play the songs in an initial sound unit whenever a tune knob is turned in the case that the song is searched by the tune knob. The apparatus for supporting a high-speed search function of an AVN system for a vehicle, according to the present invention, comprises: a knob rotation sensing part which senses the rotation of a knob installed in the AVN system for a vehicle; an indication object changing part which changes a current indication object into an indication object having an initial character different from the current indication object when the rotation of the knob is sensed; and an object information output part which outputs the information on the changed indication object. |
