There is provided an angle detecting sensor having a phase compensating function capable of detecting a rotation angle even in a case where chip substrates are roughly mounted. First function calculating means 14 calculates a non-compensated rotation angle phi of a measured object from SIN and COS signals output form a sensing unit 1. At this time, in a case where there is an error (non-compensated phase difference) between the non-compensated rotation angle phi and an input angle &thetas;, phase compensating means 15 calculates phase compensated values delta for respective angles by approximating the error with a trigonometric function and removes the phase compensated value delta from the non-compensated rotation angle phi , so that the chip substrates can be roughly mounted. As a result, even in a case where there is a phase error alpha between the SIN and COS signals, it is possible to detect the rotation angel of the measured object with a high accuracy. <IMAGE>
