PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an image processor to perform high speed processing of plotting an image by a small hardware. SOLUTION: An image plotting command analysis section 71 analyzes a command to write a parameter such as a top address of a threshold table to a halftone pattern generation section 72, and then allows the halftone pattern generation section 72 to start processing of gradation. The halftone pattern generation section 72 reads the threshold table from a main memory 54 to apply the processing of gradation thereto and writes a halftone pattern in a halftone pattern memory region 404 of the main memory 54. A scan line halftone pattern writing section 74 receives a parameter such as a value of a coordinate Y for plotting an image, reads the halftone pattern corresponding to the coordinate Y for plotting the image from the main memory 54, and then sequentially writes the halftone pattern to a scan line halftone pattern memory section 76. A horizontal line image plotting section 75 applies the processing of plotting the image to a band memory by reading the halftone pattern from the scan line halftone pattern memory section 76.
