A brake control system for reducing the damage of collision is provided to decrease the collision velocity of 20km/h or more and to prevent the interference with the steering avoidance of a driver. A brake control system for reducing the damage of collision comprises a detection unit which comprises a vehicle speed sensor(16) detecting the speed of the own car under driving, a radar(12) detecting and calculating the gap spacing and relative speed between the own car and the preceding car, and a steering sensor(14) detecting the steering angle of a steering wheel when a driver rotates a steering wheel; a brake control device(20) which calculates the time to collision (TTC) by using the gap spacing and the relative speed, divides the brake pattern based on the relative speed and the brake reduced speed, and outputs the brake pattern so as to have different reduced speed per the TTC section according to the divided pattern; and a brake device(30) which is braked differently according to the brake pattern outputted at the brake control device so as to reduce the collision velocity. |
