A system for transferring digital rights managed (DRM) files from a first seller device to a buyer device involves a buyer device configured to receive a file package having the DRM file. Some file packages may also have a DRM file access key. The system also has a first seller device having the DRM file stored thereon and configured to receive a request to purchase the DRM file (the request having a DRM file identifier); receive a buyer identifier associated with the request; transfer the file package to a buyer device to the buyer device; detect through a network connection, a digital rights management server; and send, responsive to detecting the digital rights management server, a sale record to the digital rights management server, where the sale record includes the DRM file identifier and the buyer identifier.

1. A method for providing digital rights managed (DRM) files, the method comprising:
receiving, by a first tablet computer and from a second tablet computer, a browsing request for a list of a plurality of DRM files available from an online DRM file store; sending, by the first tablet computer and in response to the received browsing request, a list of a subset of the plurality of DRM files to the second tablet computer, the subset residing on a local storage of the first tablet computer and having been received thereon from the online DRM file store prior to receiving the browsing request, the subset including a first DRM file; receiving, by a first tablet computer and in response to the sent list of the subset, a purchasing request to receive the first DRM file from the second tablet computer; sending, by the first tablet computer and in response to the purchasing request, an authorization information request to the second tablet computer; receiving, by the first table computer and in response to the authorization information request, authorization information, wherein the authorization information as received includes a login identity and a password of a user of the second tablet computer, and wherein the authorization information as received is protected within an encrypted file such that a user of the first tablet computer is not able to view the authorization information; sending, by the first tablet computer and in response to the received authorization information, the authorization information and a date of purchase of the first DRM file to the online DRM file store; sending, by the first table computer and in response to the received authorization information, the first DRM file and an extended DRM file access key to the second tablet computer via a Bluetooth connection between the first tablet computer and the second tablet computer, the extended DRM file access key enabling the second tablet computer permanent access to the first DRM file; receiving, by the first tablet computer, after the sending the first DRM file and the extended DRM file access key to the second tablet computer, and from the online DRM file store, an indication that the second tablet computer is not authorized to receive permanent access to the first DRM file, the indication including a denial package, wherein the denial package includes a limited DRM file access key enabling the second tablet computer temporary access to the first DRM file; sending, by the first tablet computer and based on the denial package, a delete command to the second tablet computer, the delete command configured to cause the extended DRM file access key to be deleted from the second tablet computer; and sending, by the first tablet computer and based on the denial package, the limited DRM file access key to the second tablet computer.
