PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support a driver who drives a vehicle.SOLUTION: Sensor data is generated by at least one sensor 2, 3 for physically sensing the environment of its own vehicle, or by acquiring data carrying information about the environment of the vehicle, or both of them, an object on a route of the vehicle is detected on the basis of the sensor data, a distance between the vehicle and the detected object is controlled on the basis of a preset gap, an environmental condition of the vehicle is determined on the basis of the sensor data, gap adaptation indicators which are related to the determined environmental condition to respectively increase or reduce the preset gap are determined, and the preset gap is adjusted on the basis of the gap adaptation indicators.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
