A slit forming device (1) according to the present invention is configured so that a conveyor unit (10) comprising support rollers (11) and a chain (12) defines a conveying path relative to rotary knives (31) for forming slits (4) on a filter rod (3). The conveying path defines a region on which the filter rod (3) rotates at least once as a cutting region. When the filter rod (3) is conveyed in the cutting region, which extends along the path of movement of the cutting edges (31a) of the rotary knives (31), the path of movement of the axis thereof follows the path of movement of the cutting edges (31a) of the rotary knives (31). The distance (I) between these paths is shorter than the radius (R) of the filter rod (3). |
