PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for solving a quality problem that conventionally for culturing a flowering plant, vegetable and fruit, methods such as a heating in a glass green house or vinyl house, an extension of day time by a night illumination, an acceleration of seasonal transition by a temporary low temperature exposure, etc., of seeds, etc., are used, but in these methods, since its primary object is placed on a short period culturing or a culture in a season other than the original season, the cultured plant has a poor plant tissue or an insufficient life, color tone and taste, and for accelerating the growth. SOLUTION: This method for an illumination is to obtain a blue or red color light which is specifically absorbed by a chloroplast, by applying a coloring of the red or blue color at the glass part of a light source such as a fluorescent light or candescent light or installing a selective filter for the blue or red color at the light source. By illuminating the plant with such a monochromatic light singly or simultaneously, the improvement of the plant quality and acceleration of its growth are realized by activating a photosynthetic reaction in the colorplast and increasing the material production capacity in the plant body.
