PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor the amount of change in a frequency error, to increase follow-up performance in the variations of a frequency by increasing and decreasing a control gain when the amount of change in the frequency error is large and small, respectively, and to maintain a reception state satisfactorily. SOLUTION: A broadcast receiver comprises: a broadcast reception means (tuner 2) for generating an intermediate frequency signal corresponding to a reception frequency by a reference frequency signal; and frequency control means (an OFDM decoder 3 and a main control unit 5) that monitor the amount of change in the frequency error per prescribed time in the intermediate frequency signal, assign the control gain according to the amount of change in the frequency error, and follow a change in a reference oscillation frequency signal.
