PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a number-of-objects counting device, a program, and a method for counting the number of objects that recognize objects and improve the precision of counting even when the objects have moved and overlap with one another in a distance direction.SOLUTION: A number-of-objects measuring device 1 includes: an image acquisition part 12 acquiring image data 105 at predetermined time intervals; a recognition part 131 recognizing objects in the image data 105 acquired by the image acquisition part 12; a tracking part 132 tracking the objects recognized by the recognition part 131; a reverse-tracking part 134 reverse-tracking the objects being traced by the tracking part 132 time-wise; and a counting part 134 counting the number of objects in the image data acquired by the image acquisition part 12 on the basis of the results of tracking by the tracking part 132 and reverse-tracking by the reverse-tracking part 133.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
