1. A method for decoding, by a decoding apparatus, a bitstream for a coded video signal comprising at least one block, the method comprising:
determining, by the decoding apparatus, prediction type information of a current block, the prediction type information indicating whether the current block is intra-coded or inter-coded; determining, by the decoding apparatus, a luma intra prediction mode of the current block when the prediction type information indicates that the current block is intra-coded, the luma intra prediction mode specifying an intra prediction mode for luma samples of the current block; obtaining, by the decoding apparatus, index information of the current block from the bitstream, the index information being used to specify an intra prediction mode for chroma samples of the current block; deriving, by the decoding apparatus, a chroma intra prediction mode according to a predefined mapping table based on the determined luma intra prediction mode and the obtained index information; and decoding, by the decoding apparatus, the chroma samples of the current block based on the derived chroma intra prediction mode, wherein, when the obtained index information has a predefined value, the chroma intra prediction mode is set equal to the luma intra prediction mode. |
