PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MR element for reducing a positioning error on a magnet and the effect thereon of magnet temperature. SOLUTION: With respect to this MR element, a bias magnet is previously mounted on a sensor chip part of the MR element and then the whole thereof is formed into a mold package, thereby reducing a positioning error on the magnet and the effect thereon of magnet temperature. This eliminates irregularity of the direction of a bias magnetic field caused by the positioning error in magnet bonding work. Further, man-hours can be reduced by the elimination of magnet bonding work and also the effect of magnet ambient temperature can be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
