WHEEL SHAPE MEASURING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a conventional wheel shape measuring system has been able to highly precisely determined flange wear but has had difficulties in highly precisely determining wheel tread wear.

SOLUTION: By determining the accurate profiles of flanges and wheel treads by this wheel shape measuring system (distance measuring device) using distance sensors and determining the amount of wear of each part of wheels, it is possible to detect even recession wear which occurs in wheel treads and highly precisely report life determination and machining periods.
