PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield excavator with a simple structure, capable of estimating the fluid state of sediment in a chamber.SOLUTION: A shield excavator for excavating the soil with a rotating cutter head 19 mounted on a shield body 15 includes: a barrier 20 to define a chamber B1 in which the sediment excavated by the cutter head 19 is accumulated; a bending sensor mounted on the barrier 20, which is elastically deformed in the rotation direction of the cutter head 19 by the sediment flowing in the chamber B1 so as to output signals; and a control board which determines the fluid state of the sediment in the chamber B1 through processing of the signals from the bending sensor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
