<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exterior component for a vehicle enabling arranging an object reflecting an electromagnetic wave on a part near the outside of an electromagnetic transmission and receiving route of an on-vehicle radar device. <P>SOLUTION: The exterior component for the vehicle is arranged in the outside of a central electromagnetic transmission member 15 of an emblem 12, arranged forward of the radar device 13 and comprises a near member 16 forming a chrome-plated part 18 reflecting electromagnetic waves on a front face of acrylate, styrene, acrylonitrile resin and modified polyphenylene oxide resin of a prescribed value or larger by the transmission attenuation amount of the electromagnetic waves. Thus, even if the electromagnetic waves incident on the near member 16 from the radar device 13 are reflected with the chrome-plated part 18 to be received in the radar device 13, the intensity of the electromagnetic waves is suppressed low, to prevent influence to detection precision. Thus the need for using expensive indium deposition that does not reflect the electromagnetic waves replacing the chrome-plated part 18 is eliminated, and the flexibility of design of the emblem 12 is improved and contribution to cost reduction is made. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
