摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for manufacturing a glass fiber which has a bushing plate having excellent high temperature strength, creep resistance or the like with respect to a bushing used for the manufacture of long glass fiber, and a method of manufacturing the glass fiber using the apparatus for manufacturing the glass fiber. SOLUTION: In the apparatus for manufacturing the glass fiber, the bushing has a nearly rectangular bushing plate 12 and a bushing side peripheral part 13 extending from the periphery of the bushing plate 12, and molten glass G is drawn from a nozzle 11 mounted on the bushing 12 to form the glass fiber. A bending-worked part 12k of≥5 mm in size nearly in parallel to the long side is provided on the long side of the bushing plate 12, and an end surface vicinity part extending from the bending-worked part 12k is welded to the bushing side peripheral part 13. In the method of manufacturing the glass fiber, the apparatus for manufacturing the glass fiber is used and the molten glass G is drawn from the nozzle 11 while monitoring the temperature of the bushing, to form the long glass fiber F.
