<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the hill-climbing performance of a hybrid vehicle more. <P>SOLUTION: The hybrid vehicle 20 has its engine lower-limit engine speed Nemin set based upon the road slop θ of a travel road and the output limitation Wout of a battery 50 (steps S130 to S140) when the road slope θ of the travel road is a climbing slope, and the engine speed obtained by limiting a temporary target engine speed Netmp of an engine, set based upon request torque Tr* requested for a travel and a predetermined limitation, to an engine lower-limit engine speed Nemin is set as a target engine speed Ne* of the engine 22 (steps S160 or S170). Basically, the engine 22 is placed in operation at the set target engine speed Ne*, and the engine 22 and motors MG1 and MG2 are so controlled as to obtain power based upon the request torque Tr* (steps S180 to S240). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
