PURPOSE: An AV system and a method for decreasing power consumption for the same are provided to reduce stand-by power of an AV receiver by controlling the stand-by power of the AV receiver according to fixed time input of Y signal in MICOM of the AV receiver with sensing inputted Y signal on interrupt port in a signal search circuit of the AV receiver. CONSTITUTION: A signal search circuit(21) searches Y signal from an image output device(10). A main microcomputer(22) senses the Y signal from the signal search circuit. The main microcomputer controls the stand-by power of an AV receiver(20). A sub-microcomputer(23) controls the power of the AV receiver through the status information of the main microcomputer. Using the control of a sub-microcomputer, a power switch(24) operates the power of the AV receiver. |
