PURPOSE: A method for treating pigs' excrement by using pyroligneous acid is provided, which reduces waste water and produce little malodor. Moreover, the resultant can be used as environmental-friend compost. CONSTITUTION: The method is as follows: First, spread 1.2 ton of sawdust on the flour of pigsties(based on twenty five pigs). Second, mix 300 ml of pyroligneous acid with 30 L of water. Third, spray the diluted pyroligneous acid on the sawdust. In the system, excrement mixed with sawdust is fermented steady while generating less gas and/or malodor.
