<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail rod which is produceable through a small number of production steps, simple in structure, and excellent in design. <P>SOLUTION: The handrail rod is formed in the following manner. First a rod member 1 is obtained by cutting an LVL material into a round rod, and a long groove 2 having a recessed cross section as viewed in a front elevation, is longitudinally formed in the rod member 1, followed by covering a surface of the rod member 1 with a face member 3. Further a winding starting edge 31 and a winding ending edge 32 of the face member 3 are concealed in the long groove 2 so as to be opposed to each other, and then a mold is filled in the long groove 2.
