PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an insertion and a removal of a recording medium to be easily performed while suppressing a curl of the recording medium. SOLUTION: An inkjet printer 1 comprises an inkjet head 2, a sheet container 14 which contains a plurality of sheets P, a platen 21 having a horizontal and flat upper surface 21a which holds the sheet P, a conveying mechanism 12 which conveys the sheet P of the sheet container 14 to the platen 21, a sheet receiver 15 which contains the sheet P discharged from the platen 21, and a discharging mechanism 13 which conveys the sheet P from the platen 21 to the sheet receiver 15. The sheet container 14 is constituted by inserting a tray 14a in which the plurality of the sheets P are contained in a direction of an arrow A of one direction in a horizontal plane in a supporter 14b. The conveying mechanism 12 conveys the sheet P contained in the sheet container 14 in the direction of arrows B, C which cross with the direction of an arrow A in the horizontal plane.
