An input method that is executed by a computer includes obtaining a first image of an object using an imaging device, detecting a first feature point of the object based on a shape of the object in the first image, calculating a first angle of the object with respect to a plane on which a pressing operation is performed based on the first feature point and information on a first area of the object in the first image, and selecting a first input item from a plurality of input items based on the first angle.

1. An input method that is executed by a computer, the input method comprising:
obtaining a first image of an object using an imaging device; detecting a first area of the object from the first image, identifying a first feature point of the object based on a shape of the first area, the first feature point corresponding to a part of the object which touches a plane where a pressing operation is performed; calculating a first angle of the object with respect to the plane based on the first feature point and the first area; selecting a first input item from a plurality of input items based on the first angle; obtaining a second image including the object, the second image being captured by the imaging device which captured the first image after the first image is captured; detecting a second area of the object from the second image; when a second feature point is not identified from the second image, calculating a second angle of the object in the second image based on the second area and the first feature point, the second feature point corresponding to the part of the object which touches the plane; when the second feature point is identified from the second image, calculating the second angle of the object in the second image based on the second area and the second feature point; and selecting a second input item from the plurality of input items, based on the second angle.
