<p>A vehicle video warning device comprises video elements 11-15 around a vehicle in the left front, right front, left rear, right rear, and direct rear of the vehicle, to identify 10 moving objects and abnormal conditions. It also comprises an alarm 17, which may be audible or visual, to warn the driver, and a vehicle display 40. When moving forwards below a given speed the display may switch to front left and right images, as when approaching a junction. When moving backwards below a given speed the display 40 may switch to rear left and right images, as when parking. When moving forwards above a given speed the display 40 may switch to the rear left, rear right, and direct rear images. Reverse gear and indicator status may be monitored. The vehicle's proximity to lanes, other vehicles crossing lanes or approaching quickly (increasing image size), or vehicles moving perpendicularly, may cause the driver to be warned.</p> |
