<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microporous sheet material having sharply improved dimensional stability and physical properties. <P>SOLUTION: A matrix comprising an ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) and a filler dispersed in the whole matrix is produced by bringing the UHMWPE and the filler to have a mixing ratio of the filler: UHMWPE to be in a range of about (1:9) to about (15:1), adding a processing plasticizer to the mixture, extruding the mixture to form a sheet from the mixture, calendering the sheet, subsequently extracting the processing plasticizer from the sheet. A stretched microporous matrix is produced by stretching the microporous matrix in at least one direction to a stretch ratio of at least 1.5, subsequently calendering the stretched microporous matrix to produce the microporous material expressing improved physical properties and dimensional stability in comparison with the stretched microporous matrix. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
