PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording method in which recording images of a high image quality can be obtained surely, and to provide a thermal recording apparatus. SOLUTION: In the thermal recording method, after a thermal recording medium 4 is made to develop colors by a thermal head 3, residual heat remaining at the thermal recording medium 4 is removed forcibly. The thermal recording apparatus 1 has a compulsory residual heat removing means 5 set at the transfer direction downstream side of the thermal recording medium 4 from the thermal head 3.
