PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic binder for a mold which has advantageously extended useable time without causing uneven hardening, lowering a mold strength and increasing consumption of a catalyst, and to provide a molding sand composition which can be obtained by using the organic binder for a mold and has extended useable time and a mold which can be molded by gas-hardening such molding sand composition. SOLUTION: In the organic binder used for molding of phenol-urethane-based gas-hardening mold, aromatic compound having at least two hydroxyl groups at positions adjacent to each other in aromatic ring together with phenol resin, polyisocyanate compound and organic solvent, are contained as the indispensable components.
