PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a polyphenylene sulfide resin composition which reduces the generation of an odor in using a molded article in high temperature circumstances and reduces the deterioration of mechanical strength. SOLUTION: The process for producing a polyphenylene sulfide resin composition comprising (A) 100 pts.wt. polyphenylene sulfide resin, (B) 10-200 pts.wt. fibrous filler, and (C) 10-200 pts.wt. nonfibrous filler comprises twice melt-kneading the components other than the fibrous filler in an extruder, and thereafter adding the twice melt-kneaded resin composition from a feed opening for the main raw material in a third melt kneading and side-feeding the fibrous filler.
