<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress LC resonance without fluctuating output voltage, even if an LC smoothing circuit is connected to an inverter. <P>SOLUTION: A controller includes a voltage detector 19, which detects the inter-terminal voltage of a DC filter capacitor 13, a band pass filter 22, which extracts vibratory components from the inter-terminal voltage of the DC filter capacitor 13 detected with the voltage detector 19, and a switching frequency varying means 23, which varies the switching frequency of switching elements Q1-Q6, based on the vibratory components of the inter-terminal voltage of the DC filter capacitor 13 extracted with the band pass filter 22.
