<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new surfactant having detergency heightened than that of a conventional one, and to provide a cleaning method by using the surfactant. <P>SOLUTION: The surfactant has a chemical structure containing an aromatic ring, linear two or more linking parts bonded to the aromatic ring and containing oxygen atoms, and linear hydrophobic groups bonded to the terminals of each of the linking parts through quaternary ammonium groups. The cleaning method includes a step for cleaning a base material by using the surfactant, and a step for removing the surfactant from the base material by using a pressurized fluid solvent. The surfactant preferably has a chemical structure represented by general formula (I) (wherein, A is the linear linking part containing the oxygen atom; B is a linear hydrophobic group; R and R' are each 1C-16C hydrocarbon; m is an integer of 2-4; with the proviso that in m parts except the aromatic ring, A, B, R and R' may be the same to or different from each other). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
